About Bluegrass & Company
Bluegrass and Company is an award winning band of three multi-talented musicians from Pickens County, SC. They enjoy sharing their love of music in churches, at festivals, and private events in and around their community and neighboring states. Members are Elijah, Alyssa and Malachi.

The three members of Bluegrass and Company met through the Sweet Potato Pie Kids, YAMS (Young Appalachian Musicians) elite performance band. It was here they discovered their mutual love for bluegrass music. Even though they formed their band over four years ago they have continued to teach in the program that gave them their start as well as continuing their personal music studies themselves. By calling th
emselves Bluegrass and Company, they play many genres of music in the style of bluegrass music. The bands goal is to share their faith and their love of bluegrass music for all to know and come to love.

Meet the Band.....Elijah

Elijah is a high school graduate who plays banjo and upright bass for the band. Elijah began his musical journey in the "Young Appalachian Musicians" program at the age of 10 and enjoys teaching banjo, bass and guitar for the YAMS program weekly.

He enjoys spending time with family, reading, collecting knives and watching old movies.

One of his favorite bands is "Appalachian Road Show."

Interesting Fact: He loves history and is enjoying his new hobby of leather works. He can be seen occasionally filling in on Banjo with Willie Wells and BRMG. He's the serious one in the band.

Meet the Band.....Alyssa


Alyssa is a college freshman pursuing a business degree. She plays guitar and sings lead and vocal harmony for the band. She began her musical journey with the "Young Appalachian Musicians" program at age 11. She now teaches guitar and mandolin weekly for YAMS and teaches privately at her home, affectionately known as, "The 427." 

She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, shopping, cooking and singing.

She loves to listen to "Molly Tuttle", "Sister Sadie", "Billy Strings",  and "Alison Krauss" to name a few. 

Interesting Facts: She built her first guitar at age 16. She plans to one day own her own Luthier Shop. Alyssa is also a member of the Clemson Bluegrass Ensemble and performs with Tigertown Roots. She's the organized one in the band.

Meet the Band...Malachi

Malachi is a Sophomore in high school. He plays fiddle and mandolin and sings lead and harmony for the band. Malachi began his musical journey at the tender age of 7 in the "Young Appalachian Musicians" program and enjoys teaching fiddle, guitar and mandolin
 weekly through the YAMS program.

He enjoys spending time with family, loves technology, collecting old coins and wrist watches

One of his favorite bands is "Carson Peters and Iron Mountain."

Interesting Fact. He loves to listen to and tell a good joke. He brings the humor to the band.
